The way the Yumbo works is people arrive in time for dinner. Afterwards, they pick a quieter/terrace bar for a drink or a cofeeen and watch the people go by. Then, depending on your taste half head for a cabaret show and the other half head off for one of the busier bars, either to down a few with their mates or to one of the cruising bars.
From around 1am most people then head up to the fourth floor area where you'll find the disco-pubs, Mantrix Disco and the now closed nearby Heaven night-club. Both Mantrix and Heaven (now closed) start to fill up from 2am onwards, generally pretty busy by 3am. Heaven isvery busy on a Saturday night, can be busy on a Friday but either very quiet or closed for the rest of the week, closes around 6am. Very much a progressive house club and often gets some good names in to DJ. Mantrix I always thing of as a cruisy disco but again plays house music though more commercial and is busy every night of the week, closes around 5.30am
Once the Yumbo closes from 05:30 to 06:30am, if you are still in a party mood over the week-end head for the Cita Center. There is often 1 or 2 after-hours clubs that open from 05:30am until late morning / early afternoon. The Cita is a 15 minute walk from the Yumbo or 2 minutes in a cab.
Maybe you would like to venture a little further afield, get away from the same-old same-old in the south and do something a little different. Let Nikolaos and Fernando take you to Las Palmas by night. Have a walk round the 500 year-old historic quarter and trendy Triana areas. Then by bus see the best parts of the rest of the city then do a little bar and club hopping, visiting all the busier gay venues with cabaret show in the first. The night finishes around 03:30am.
